Monolithic LC columns.

چکیده
Recently, monolithic columns consisting of one piece of an organic polymer or silica with flow-through pores have been reported in the literature. These materials provide better stability and, more important, higher performance than conventional columns packed with particles. Although they can be prepared by various methods, monolithic columns prepared by the direct polymerization of monomers can be used in various analytical separations by HPLC and capillary electrochromatography (CEC). This article will show the structural and chromatographic features of these monolithic columns.

Improvement of the liquid-chromatographic analysis of protein tryptic digests by the use of long-capillary monolithic columns with UV and MS detection
Optimisation of peak capacity is an important strategy in gradient liquid chromatography (LC). This can be achieved by using either long columns or columns packed with small particles. Monolithic columns allow the use of long columns at relatively low back-pressure. The gain in peak capacity using long columns was evaluated by the separation of a tryptic bovine serum albumin digest with an LC-U...

متن کاملVoltage-assisted capillary LC of peptides using monolithic capillary columns prepared by ring-opening metathesis polymerization.
We examined the use of monolithic capillary columns prepared via ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) for peptide separation in voltage-assisted capillary LC (voltage-assisted CLC). In order to demonstrate their potential for peptide separation, ROMP-derived monoliths with RP properties were prepared. The preparation procedure of monoliths was transferred from ROMP monoliths optimized ...
متن کاملRecent Advances and Uses of Monolithic Columns for the Analysis of Residues and Contaminants in Food
Monolithic columns are gaining interest as excellent substitutes to conventional particle-packed columns. These columns show higher permeability and lower flow resistance than conventional liquid chromatography columns, providing high-throughput performance, resolution and separation in short run times. Monoliths possess also great potential for the clean-up and preparation of complex mixtures....
متن کاملDevelopment of Monolithic Column Materials for the Separation and Analysis of Glycans
Monolithic column materials offer great advantages as chromatographic media in bioseparations and as solid-supports in biocatalysis. These single-piece porous materials have an interconnected ligament structure that limits the void volume inside the column, thus increasing the efficiency without sacrificing the permeability. The preparation of monolithic materials is easy, reproducible and has ...
